Oranges with Vanilla Gelato and Balsamic Vinegar

Raspberry Oranges with Vanilla Gelato and Balsamic Vinegar 2 servings

Oranges

3 Raspberry or Blood Oranges

1 oz granulated sugar

Zest of 3 oranges

½ tsp cinnamon

½ tsp vanilla bean paste

1 oz chiffonaded mint

Serving

Drizzle of Gold Label Balsamic Vinegar

Drizzle of Chianti Classico Extra Virgin Olive Oil

2 scoops of vanilla gelato or ice cream

Chopped Pistachios (optional)

Method

1. Measure out the sugar into a medium-sized bowl

2. Zest the oranges over the sugar, massage the zest into the sugar

3. Add vanilla bean paste and cinnamon, stir

4. Chiffonade the mint and mix into the sugar

5. Cut the rest of the peel and pith (white coating) from the orange, cut into ½ inch slices

6. Mix into the sugar mixture and let sit for 10 minutes

7. Once the oranges have sat for 10 minutes, they should be syrupy and flavorful

8. In a bowl, scoop the ice cream, top with the oranges, drizzle with the syrup in the bottom, add a drizzle of balsamic, and a drizzle of olive oil (trust us)
