Olive Oil Martini

Olive Oil Martini Serves 1

This is a savory martini with olive oil-infused vodka (if preferred, substitute vodka for gin). For this recipe, the tools you will need are a Boston shaker and a martini glass.

Ingredients:

For the Infused Vodka:

4 oz Vodka*

1 oz Chianti Classico Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Dievole**

For the Cocktail:

4 oz olive oil infused vodka

1.5 oz dry vermouth

1 dash of orange bitters

For the Garnish:

1 lemon peel

1 spoon lemon pearls***

Method:

Infuse the vodka with the olive oil, and allow to sit at room temperature for at least 4 hours. Freeze overnight, or until the olive oil is congealed and can be picked off from the vodka.

Pour the vodka, dry vermouth, and bitters over ice and stir to chill.

Wipe the rim of the chilled martini glass with the peel, and strain your beverage.

Garnish with the lemon peel and lemon pearls.

*My personal preference is Titos Vodka, you may also substitute for gin or an alternative brand.

**We strongly suggest this specific olive oil because the strong flavor profile can hold up against the vodka.

***For a little bit of zing, substitute lemon pearls for balsamic vinegar pearls.
